When is a fire watch legally required?
Most commonly when a required sprinkler system is out of service more than 10 hours in a day or a fire alarm system more than 4 hours (IFC 901.7 / NFPA 101), during and after hot work (NFPA 51B / OSHA), on many construction sites (NFPA 241), and whenever your local fire marshal conditions a permit on watch personnel. Your AHJ has final say, and we work to their requirements.
